Regarding the SE segment, the operating income from semiconductors is expected to exceed 20 billion yen this fiscal year, and we believe that our niche market strategy was the right approach. On the other hand, although Minebea Power Semiconductor Devices (MPSD) is facing a bit of a slump due to customers losing orders and programs being postponed, we think it is commendable that we have been able to maintain the profitability mentioned above through our niche strategy.
However, there are two sub-core businesses in this segment that I mentioned earlier. This falls under the former MITSUMI segment, and the pricing for camera actuators has become very challenging. We call it a 'Suicide Attack' within our company. Due to contracts that require us to match prices with other suppliers, if one company lowers its prices, we must do the same. As a result, not to say a red ocean, the situation is becoming very severe. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to take the lead in improving profitability under the Chairman's Office ICU management in order to take another step forward in restoring profitability.
