Receiving Award under Factory Greening Award Program (Japan: Hamamatsu Plant)
On October 31, 2018, MinebeaMitsumi Inc.'s Hamamatsu Plant won the Director-General's Award of Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry for Excellent Greening Plants at the commendation ceremony for Factory Greening Award in the 37th National Assembly of Factory Greening Promotion Initiatives. This Award is given by the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry for the proactive promotion of factory greening, and is awarded to factories with remarkable achievements in environmental maintenance inside and outside their factories.
The Hamamatsu Plant building is surrounded by tall trees planted along the outer circumference, and it blends into the rich natural environment of the nearby area, including mountain forests and fields. The area near the site's retention basin is managed as a biotope*. Migrating birds stop there in the winter, and it plays a role in biodiversity conservation.
* Biotope: A space where creatures from the area can live
