Karuizawa Head Office Technology Center Accredited with Highest Rank in CASBEE Certification for Real Estate
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head office: Nagano Prefecture; Representative Director, Chairman CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma; hereinafter "MinebeaMitsumi") is pleased to announce that its Karuizawa Head Office Technology Center, originally opened in 2022 as an R&D base of the Karuizawa Plant, has been accredited with the highest rank out of four in CASBEE Certification for Real Estate, a system that evaluates buildings' environmental performance.
CASBEE Certification for Real Estate is a system that objectively certifies building as being environmentally conscious at a high standard, using a comprehensive assessment tool to evaluate their overall environmental performance. At this facility, the certification was achieved with a high rating by successfully balancing a pleasant working environment with the reduction of environmental impact. In particular, this recognition was awarded for the adoption of natural ventilation, the installation of highly energy-efficient equipment, and the proactive use of recycled materials.
The Karuizawa Head Office Technology Center serves not only as an R&D base but also as a key hub for fostering ties with the customers, local communities and residents. Overview of CASBEE Certification for Real Estate
The Comprehensive Assessment System for Built Environment Efficiency (CASBEE) is a certification system established under the initiative of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Its purpose is to appropriately evaluate and certify real estate, such as office buildings, that demonstrate high environmental performance and are well-managed with significant environmental value, through third-party organizations.
The system is composed of five categories: "Energy/Greenhouse Gas," "Water," "Resource Utilization/Safety," "Biodiversity/Site," and "Indoor Environment."
