ABLIC Launches Automotive Shunt Reference IC Industry's Best ±0.1% Output Voltage Accuracy and 20ppm/°C Output Temperature Coefficient

ABLIC Inc. (President: Seiji Tanaka, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter: ABLIC), a member of the MinebeaMitsumi Group, today announced the launch of the S-19760/1 Series automotive shunt reference ICs, which achieve the industry's highest (*1) output voltage accuracy of ±0.1% and the industry's lowest (*1) output voltage temperature coefficient of ±20ppm/°C.
The new S-19760/1 Series is primarily used as a reference voltage for A/D converters, which convert analog sensor signals into digital values.
The key features of the S-19760/1 Series include achieving the industry's highest(*1) output voltage accuracy of ±0.1% and the industry's lowest(*1) output voltage temperature coefficient of ±20ppm/°C. This enables the output of a highly precise reference voltage even in severe temperature environments, contributing to improved sensor readout accuracy. Furthermore, with its integrated filter circuit, the product series features an ultra-low output noise of just 28µVrms (*2). This minimizes measurement errors in A/D converters during the conversion of sensor signals into digital values. The S-19761 Series also features a maximum shunt current of 30mA, allowing a single shunt reference IC to be used as the reference voltage for multiple circuits, thereby reducing the number of components, saving space, and contributing to cost reduction.
In addition to the standard SOT-23-3 (2.8 x 2.9 x t1.3 mm) package, the lineup also includes the ultra-small/thin HSNT-8(1616)B (1.6 x 1.6 x t0.41 mm) package, enabling space-saving mounting.
Vehicles are equipped with various sensors that precisely monitor the constantly changing vehicle conditions. For example, in EV/HEV inverters, sensors monitor current, voltage, and motor angle to enable precise motor control. When these sensor signals are processed by an A/D converter, a highly precise reference voltage is essential to ensure precise digital conversion. By using the S-19760/1 Series, featuring industry-leading output voltage accuracy and temperature coefficient, as a reference voltage, users can ensure high-precision inverter monitoring and control even in harsh environments, thereby supporting enhanced vehicle safety. Moreover, as the number of sensors installed in vehicles continues to increase, this product contributes to component miniaturization and reduced component count.

The ±0.1% output voltage accuracy and ±20ppm/°C output voltage temperature coefficient contribute to improved sensor readout precise when used as a reference voltage for A/D converters.

2. Achieves Low Output Noise of 28µVrms

With an output noise of 28µVrms when the output voltage is 2.048 V, it contributes to minimizing measurement errors in A/D converters.

3. Maximum Shunt Current Output of 30mA

The S-19761 Series features a large shunt current of 30mA, allowing a single shunt reference IC to be used as the reference voltage for multiple circuits. This reduces the number of components, contributing to cost reduction and space-saving mounting.

4. Ultra-Small/Thin Package Enables Space-Saving Mounting

Available in the ultra-small/thin HSNT-8(1616)B package (1.6 mm x 1.6 mm x t0.41 mm), the product contributes to space-saving mounting.

5. Automotive Quality

The product undergoes three-temperature tests (low temperature, normal temperature, and high temperature). It is also planned to meet AEC-Q100 reliability and quality standards set by the Automotive Electronics Council, with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) compliance forthcoming. The product is suitable for use in the harsh environments commonly found in automotive applications.
