Environmental Management Structure
In order to carry out the Minebea Group Environmental Policy, the Minebea Group has established an environmental management structure headed by the Board of Directors and the President and Chief Executive Officer. We have also put in place an Environment Management Committee, a promotion organization composed mostly of executive officers, and a Group Environmental Protection Committee, which leads the day-to-day execution of policy. This structure enables rapid response to environmental policy. Each work site also has a Plant General Manager of Environmental Management and a Manager of Environmental Management who promote specific environmental conservation measures at their work sites.

Environmental Audits
The Minebea Group is striving to acquire ISO 14001 certification at each of its major global sites. To maintain certification, we also conduct annual external audits by third-party organizations and internal audits by internal auditors. In FY2012, Minebea Electronic Devices (Suzhou) Ltd., Minebea (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. and the Daiichi Seimitsu Sangyo Co., Ltd. headquarters newly acquired certification. Additionally, we began preparations to acquire ISO 14001 certification for the Tokyo Head Office in conjunction with the office's relocation.
Suzhou Plant Acquires ISO14001 Certification (China)
Audit meeting attended by Suzhou Plant general manager and maintenance management staff
The Suzhou Plant (operated by Minebea Electronic Devices (Suzhou) Ltd.), which serves as the lighting device manufacturing site in China, acquired ISO14001 certification on August 9, 2012 after passing an audit by an external organization in July. The plant gained certification little more than a year after opening thanks to its strenuous efforts and the collaboration of Environmental Safety Committee at the Shanghai Plant (operated by Minebea Electronics & Hi-Tech Components (Shanghai) Ltd., which had previously acquired certification.
Cambodia Plant Acquires ISO14001 Certification (Cambodia)
On-site audit at Cambodia Plant
The Cambodia Plant (Minebea (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.) acquired ISO14001 certification on March 29, 2013 after an audit by an external organization earlier in the month.
With few electronic equipment manufacturers in Cambodia, there is shortage of personnel with an awareness of ISO14001 and experience with the audit process. The Cambodia Plant therefore relied on the knowledge and experience of members from the environment and safety management offices at the Thai plants to prepare for certification.
Strict Adherence to Laws and Regulations
To enforce compliance with environmental laws, every place of business in the Minebea Group sets and manages its own standard reference values. These values exceed the legal requirements of the relevant country or region. Third-party agencies are periodically asked to assess monitored areas of importance, and where required the results of these assessments are reported to relevant authorities.
In FY2012, the Minebea Group was not in violation of any environmental laws or regulations.
