Support for the United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact

Minebea Co., Ltd. expressed support for the United Nations Global Compact (the "GC") in January 2012.

The GC was proposed and created by former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Atta Annan in 2000, and is clearly supported by current United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. It is a voluntary initiative to participate in the development of a global framework for businesses to act as a good member of society and realize sustainable growth by exercising creative, responsible leadership. Specifically, it supports ten principles in the four areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption that are related to CSR.
Now with over 9,600 enterprises and organizations (of which approx. 6,500 are enterprises) participating in this initiative in the world, the GC is performing lively activity.
