Three-Phase Motor Driver IC ECN30626 for Consumer Appliances

Minebea Power Semiconductor Device Inc. (CEO: Masahiko Suzuki; Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "Minebea Power Semiconductor Device"), a subsidiary of the MinebeaMitsumi Group, announced the release and sample availability of the ECN30626 , a high-voltage three-phase motor driver IC rated at 600V / 3.0A (Peak). Engineered specifically for fan motor drives in consumer appliances—such as room air conditioners, heat pumps, and water heaters —the new IC comes in three industry-standard packages: DIP26, SOP26, and SOP26R.
The ECN30626 was developed in direct response to global market feedback. It delivers a highly robust solution that guarantees stable, uninterrupted system operation even in regions plagued by severe power grid and voltage fluctuations.
By accepting 6 independent control signals, the IC enables efficient inverter control for brushless DC (BLDC) motors. To help manufacturers shrink their hardware footprint and simplify circuit designs, the ECN30626 features a monolithic high-voltage IC (HVIC) design. It monolithically integrates 6 IGBTs, freewheeling diodes (FWDs), a gate driver, and a comprehensive suite of hardware protections—including overcurrent and undervoltage protection—along with the upper-arm bootstrap capacitors onto a single silicon die. This single-chip integration eliminates the need for multiple external components, directly reducing bill-of-materials (BOM) costs and optimizing driver board space.
