New Magnetic Encoder Option Added to MinebeaMitsumi's Hybrid Stepping Motors
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. (Head Office: Nagano Prefecture, Representative Director, Chairman CEO: Yoshihisa Kainuma; hereinafter "MinebeaMitsumi") hereby announces the addition of the "N Series" and "K Series" magnetic encoders as new angle-detection options for its hybrid stepping motors.
The defining feature of these newly added magnetic encoder options is their ability to deliver high-precision detection via 3-channel output, combined with flexible resolution settings tailored to specific customer applications.
This product allows the resolution to be configured to any value within the range of 1 to 4,000 cpr. Because the resolution can be optimized to match the required positioning accuracy and mechanism of the equipment, it enables more precise and highly accurate motor control. Furthermore, it supports A/B/Z-phase output (3 channels), ensuring accurate detection of rotational direction and speed across a wide range of motor sizes. In applications demanding high-precision angle detection and rotation data, this product provides the ideal solution to address our customers' challenges.
The primary difference between the "N Series" and "K Series" lies in the presence of a "1-turn battery-less absolute function," which stores position data within a single rotation. The "K Series" can read the current position within one full rotation even after the power is shut off. For example, inversion machines used for label application typically operate within a single rotation; this function ensures the position is constantly tracked across the entire range of motion. As a result, there is no need for a homing operation when turning the power back on, contributing to a significant reduction in tact time.
