ABLIC (President: Nobumasa Ishiai, head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo hereinafter "ABLIC"), a group company of Minebea Mitsumi Inc. today launched the S-82R1 and S-82S1 Series of 1-cell battery protection ICs using a battery voltage monitoring pin (BS pin) to ensure accurate battery voltage monitoring.

The new S-82R1 and S-82S1 Series launched today are 1-cell lithium-ion battery protection ICs equipped with a battery voltage monitoring pin (BS pin) to provide the following features:

(1) Accurate battery voltage monitoring even during fast charging is ensured by the battery voltage monitoring (BS) pin. (A feature common to all Series.)

(2) Industry's top class charge-discharge overcurrent detection voltage accuracy of ±1.0mV (S-82S1 Series) and ±1.5mV (S-82R1 Series) reduce variations in overcurrent detection while lowering resistance in current detection resistance.

(3) Overheat protection can be provided by connecting an NTC thermistor to the thermistor connection pin (TH pin). (A feature common to all Series.)

These features enable accurate battery voltage monitoring even during fast charging, lower resistance in current detection resistance to reduce heat generation in the protection circuit board and implement overheat protection functionality to significantly improve product safety.
