MinebeaMitsumi Received "Kurumin" Certification as Child-Care Supportive Company
MinebeaMitsumi received the "Kurumin" certification by the Tokyo Labor Bureau on February 7, 2022 as a "Child-Care Supportive Company."
The companies receive "Kurumin" certification if they achieve the objectives of their action plans prepared based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation and meet the rest of the given requirements.
As activities to promote work-life balance, the company newsletter is used for announcing the company's child-care supportive system and introduces male employees who play an active role in child-care, networking events for child-rearing employees during lunchtime, and overtime reduction by setting no overtime day.
Through the activities to create the company environment where each employee respects each other, we keep trying to create an environment where employees are able to work with enthusiasm, respect the diversity of employees, and create synergy and brand new value.
MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN)
MinebeaMitsumi has been selected as a constituent of the MSCI Japan Empowering Women Index (WIN) since 2018.
MSCI calculates a multifaceted score based on data on employment of women disclosed under the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace and corporate disclosures, which it uses to select companies within each industry to recognize for their efforts to promote women's participation and advancement. It is one of the indexes that the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) has adopted for ESG investments in Japanese stock.

The Chitose Business Division received 2021 Hokkaido Work Style Reform Promotion Company; Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace Award as a Hokkaido-Based Company that put effort into work style reform initiatives such as realizing work, life, and balance, promoting women's advancement in the workplace, etc.
Hokkaido Work Style Reform Promotion Company; Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace Award is given to the company that promotes women's participation in the workplace and supports employees balancing work and private life with active engagement in work style reform. The award allows people to know more about the initiatives and is one way of contributing towards achieving the primary goal of securing a work environment where people can feel safe.
The Chitose Business Division lies under the silver category of the Hokkaido Work Style Reform Promotion Company Certification Program. The initiatives such as actively hiring female employees, instigating "Round Table Conference for Women" for realizing a good workplace, etc., were appraised. In addition, the great job benefits that kept employees from leaving the company, human rights and ethical lectures through DVDs as harassment preventive initiatives, etc., were also evaluated.
MinebeaMitsumi Received the Highest Level "Eruboshi" Certification as a Company that Promotes Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace
MinebeaMitsumi received "Eruboshi" (Level 3) certification by the Japanese Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare as a superior company that promotes Women's participation and advancement.
The Eruboshi company certification is granted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare based on the "Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace." We have satisfied the criteria in all five categories: (1) employment, (2) continued employment, (3) work style such as working hours, (4) ratio of women in management positions, (5) diversity of career courses.
MinebeaMitsumi is carrying out various measures based on the idea that synergy and new values are created through diverse human resources recognizing each other's abilities, experiences and ways of thinking and respecting each other.
We will continue to promote women's participation and advancement in the work place and endeavor to build an organizational culture and environment in which all employees can fully demonstrate their abilities.
MinebeaMitsumi was awarded the "A-" ratings in both of the "CDP Climate Change 2021," and the "CDP Water Security 2021," a survey conducted by the UK non-profit organization CDP*.
CDP evaluates the company's commitment to environmental issues in terms of "leadership," "management," "recognition," and "disclosure of information," and "A-" being the "leadership" evaluation.
The MinebeaMitsumi Group regards "reduction of global CO2 emissions through environmentally friendly products", "minimizing the environmental impact of business activities" as one of its priority issues (materialities), and contributes to the solution of the increasingly serious climate change issue by improving the environmental performance of our products and minimizing the environmental impact.
* CDP is a non-profit organization established in the United Kingdom in 2000, and cooperates with institutional investigators to require companies and cities to disclose strategies and data on climate change, water, and forests, analysis and evaluate the results based on responses, and disclose the results to institutional investigators and others.
Minebea (Cambodia) Received the 3rd ASEAN-OSHNET Excellence Awards
Minebea (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., was awarded the "Excellence Awards" of the "3rd ASEAN-OSHNET Award".
The "ASEAN-OSHNET (ASEAN Occupational Safety and Health Network)" is an organization whose objective is to foster productive and competitive workforce, facilitate and promote exchange of information, and conduct research and training for the purpose of improving working conditions and working environment of ASEAN countries.
The ASEAN-OSHNET selects companies with good occupational safety and health systems and performance in each ASEAN country and commends them throughout ASEAN by awarding the "ASEAN-OSHNET Award." Among them, the "Excellence Awards" is given to one company with the best occupational health and safety management systems in each country and we are the first Japanese company to receive the award in Cambodia.
This award was given in recognition of various efforts to create a workplace where approximately 6,000 employees can work safely and securely, such as prompt sharing and deployment of MinebeaMitsumi global safety and health know-how and disaster prevention measures, a well-developed welfare facilities including dormitories, cafeterias and a medical office etc.
The award started in 2016 and 2020 marked its third time. Though the award ceremony had been postponed for one year due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, it was held online on July 27, 2021 (Tuesday).

NMB-Minebea Thai Received CSR-DIW Continuous Award for the Twelfth Consecutive Year
NMB-Minebea Thai Ltd.'s following plants received the CSR-DIW*1 Continuous Award from the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry for their CSR activities and was awarded a certificate of commendation and a plaque. NMB-Minebea Thai received this award for the 12th consecutive year.
CSR-DIW is a project to promote social responsibility on the part of manufacturing enterprises. To improve international competitiveness, Thailand's Ministry of Industry began promoting CSR initiatives on the part of domestic enterprises from FY2008.
This project calls for CSR initiatives in line with the seven core themes set forth in the ISO26000*2 standard: organizational governance, human rights, labor practices, the environment, fair operating practices, consumer issues, and community involvement and development. Qualification and/or continued participation in CSR-DIW is determined based on annual auditing.

NMB Singapore Ltd. was conferred the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) May Day Award, Plaque of Commendation (Gold) for its good labour-management relations and the many initiatives to support workers welfare and work prospects.
This award exemplifies the strong labour-management relations that we have and reaffirms our commitment to improving workers' wages, welfare, training and work prospects. These improvements are especially meaningful in light of business disruption amidst COVID-19 and NMB is glad for the support shown by Metal Industries Workers' Union (MIWU) during these challenging circumstances.

Mitsumi Electric Yamagata Business Division was certified as an excellent (diamond) company in the "Yamagata Childcare and Nursing Care Support Lively Company"
The Yamagata Business Division of Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. was certified as an excellent (diamond) company in "Yamagata Childcare and Nursing Care Support Lively Company." performed by Yamagata Prefecture. An excellent (diamond) companies are the top certifications given to companies working on more than four of the five certification criteria.
Yamagata Prefecture registers and certifies companies that meet certain criteria by working to promote women's participation in the active participation of women and support balancing work and family life. Certified companies can receive support such as grants and PR using a variety of public relations media.
Prior to this certification, on November 14, 2019, six people, including Governor Yoshimura of Yamagata Prefecture and other executives in charge of practical affairs attended the Mitsumi Electric Yamagata Business Division.
After explaining the contents of MinebeaMitsumi's business, visitors visited the business division, and at the meeting, we reported on environmental activities as A CSR activities and accepted workplace tours of local high school students. We exchanged information on the issues faced by our offices and the support functions we expect from Yamagata Prefecture. These activities have also led to this certification.
In addition, Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. Yamagata Plant has also appointed work-life balance promoters. We will promote work-life balance within our workplaces, as well as consult, public relations, and planning work with our employees.

Mitsumi Electric Chitose Business Division received Silver Certification Award under the Hokkaido Work Style Reform Promotion Company Certification Program
- The Chitose Business Division of Mitsumi Electric Co., Ltd. received Silver Certification under the Hokkaido Work Style Reform Promotion Company Certification Program established by Hokkaido. This is the second from the top of the 4 stages (Gold, Silver, Bronze, and White). Seven companies, including the business division, received awards for this year's Silver Certification. This system aims to encourage voluntary efforts by companies that are working on work style reforms by creating systems that are highly evaluated by society.
- In July 2014, the business division was certified as a Hokkaido Family Support Company, and was newly certified as a Hokkaido Nadeshiko Support Company this time. The Hokkaido Nadeshiko Support Company Certification Program certifies Hokkaido-based companies that support the balance of work and family life, such as childcare and nursing care. The program recognizes companies in Hokkaido that are actively working to make the most of women's abilities, expand their workplaces, and support child-rearing in order to encourage women to play an active role in their professional lives.
