[Japan] Tech for the Future: Junior High Students Take a Tour of the Hamamatsu Plant

On April 22, 2026, the cheerful cheers of students echoed around demonstration units at the Hamamatsu Plant: "Woah, it's inside this!" The plant was filled with even more energy than usual as 36 first-year students from Fukuroi City Asaba Junior High School visited. Under the theme of "Discovering the Joy of Work," a lecture explaining the behind-the-scenes processes of manufacturing—from order reception to sales—highlighted not only development and manufacturing but also indirect departments that support the company behind the scenes.

The students listened attentively and took notes with earnest expressions as they learned about the wide variety of jobs in the world. Furthermore, when they realized that our components were used in everyday products familiar to them, their expressions turned into excitement and amazement. Watching them hold the samples with sparkling eyes, they looked just like young engineers who will carry the future of manufacturing.

Seeing them study so enthusiastically and joyfully made this a fresh and inspiring day for those of us who guided them, reminding us of the fundamental essence of manufacturing.
