[Germany] "Girls' Day" – Passing the Joy of Manufacturing to the Next Generation

Have you ever heard of "Girls' Day" in Germany?

It is Germany's largest career orientation project, designed to give female students hands-on experience in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields—industries where the percentage of women is traditionally low. The goal of this initiative is to inspire and nurture the next generation of female engineers and researchers.

The program is mainly open to girls aged 10–11 and older, and MTCE was proud to host an event this year.

We welcomed up to 10 female students to our site, giving them a firsthand look at our technology and inviting them to take on the challenge of building their own solar lamps. Seeing them work so hard with tools in hand, they looked just like future engineers! It was truly wonderful to see them head home with their completed lamps and big smiles on their faces.

While the percentage of female engineers at our company is still low, we feel this event was a meaningful step in sharing the excitement of the technology world with the younger generation.
