The Karuizawa Plant received the "Shinshu Rich Environment Creation Citizens' Conference Award" for fiscal year 2025

The Shinshu Rich Environment Creation Citizens' Conference, an organization supported by the Nagano Prefectural Government, has honored our Karuizawa Plant with its "2025 Award."

This award program recognizes organizations and individuals for outstanding achievements in environmental protection and conservation. It honors long-term or exemplary contributions in areas such as community cleanup, tree planting, environmental beautification, nature conservation, and climate action. The program also acknowledges efforts to promote environmental education and awareness.
Since its establishment in 1963, the Karuizawa Plant has been committed to the well-being of its employees and a harmonious relationship with the local community. As part of this commitment, we actively participate in community-based environmental initiatives.

We are deeply honored that our longstanding efforts have been recognized with this award. Highlights of our activities are as follows:

Ongoing Community Beautification:

  • For over 20 years, we have organized annual cleanup activities around the plant each June.
  • For over 14 years, we have planted and donated flowers for public flower beds at nearby intersections.

Contributing to Biodiversity:

  • Since 2023, we have been working to cultivate and conserve the gold-banded lily, the official flower of the Miyota-machi. We also conduct activities to raise public awareness of this species, which is listed as Near-Threatened in Nagano Prefecture.

Promoting Greening on Factory Premises:

  • The Karuizawa Plant has preserved 27% of its site as green space through initiatives such as tree planting and installing artificial ponds.

The Karuizawa Plant will continue to contribute to the local community by promoting environmental beautification efforts and greening activities inside and outside the plant. These initiatives aim to create a sustainable global environment.
