Making a school visit at Minokaya Elementary School in Yonago City

The Yonago Plant made a school visit at nearby Minokaya Elementary School in Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture.

The goal was to deepen understanding of the daily course content through the principle of products in the factory in the area as a special science class. The class was intended for the upper grades, with "functions of the electromagnet" (fifth grade, February 24) and "generation and use of electric power" (sixth grade, February 17) as themes, participants produced simple motors using clips, produce wind power generators, drive model cars with manual generators, and the like. The children cheered with delight as they used the wind to turn the generators and illuminate light bulbs, formed teams to run the model cars, and the like. At the same time, they could get a real feeling of the joys and difficulties in manufacturing.

A few days later the employees who were in charge received letters of thanks from the children, which are encouraging for work going forward.

Minebea will continue to cooperate with local schools going forward as well.
